Hi Guys! I am the artist from over at thesmartestandhisartist. I am so excited to be here today. Isn't Kitty's blog excellent? I love all her creative craft ideas!
Does anyone else suffer from intense bouts of "boring-clothing-itis"? You know, the sudden and overwhelming desire to update your wardrobe without actually leaving your house (or breaking into your poor and exhausted piggy bank). I have frequent bouts of this particular condition, and this is my latest solution:
DIY Clothes Stenciling
What you need:
Shirt
Permanent marker
Cardstock or stencil
What you do:
1). Lay out skirt with cardboard separating front and back (particularly if it is thin fabric)
2). Print image you want to transfer onto think paper (I did a stag, because I keep seeing really cute clothes that have woodland creatures on them. Anyone else super interested in this new Bambi trend?)
3). Cut out the image, leaving the negative space (aka, the part that will be the hole) intact
4). Color interior of stencil with permanent marker of your choice (I used a black sharpie, and a sort of metallic blue marker that I found whilst rummaging through my craft supplies)
4.5). Make lovely design of your choice (I did a simple design on the back, and a larger design on the front)
5). Wash in cold water and dry as you normally would
6). Commence happy cha-cha dance that symbolizes the end of "boring-clothing-itis"

I wasn't sure about the deer skirt until I saw it paired with your purple tights--so cute!
