Books Books and more Books

Only in law school, do you buy a textbook...and then have to buy another text book to understand that textbook.

Unfortunately, I need another textbook, to explain the explaination textbook.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend! This weekend I was able to get alot of studying done, I interviewed for a job, applied for a few more jobs, and enjoyed a very low key weekend. Yesterday I visited a friends apartment, and took a few photos of her kitties :) She got a new one from a foster family through the "cat house" here in lincoln. Because there was a family that helped raise the kitten, they wanted to see photos of them periodically, so she asked me to come in!

How could I not have a great weekend when I got to play with kitties!!

Awww, I want some kitties! Okay, I have two cats and a dog in bed with me and it's a little crowded but that doesn't stop me from lusting!

I LOVE examples and explanations! That's my favorite series! What really pissed me off is my first time around in law school they told us they would kick us out of class if they caught us with any books like that, so I didn't buy any or even look at them. I just had my textbooks, no study group, no friends, and I was totally lost. I had no idea what I was doing and had no help or guidance.

Second time around i went to a smaller, private school and on the first day or orientation, the head of ASB walked around and gave us all copies of past exams for us to study off of, and told us to go buy these off market study guides that were sold by an unaccredited law school across town, and then I found out about the "examples" books. OMGOSH. What a difference all of that made! To know what a test is SUPPOSED to look like! Here's an F paper and here's an A! I didn't stay in school but I saved all of that stuff, it's invaluable! Everytime I look at it I still get excited and I wonder why my first school was so opposed to it. Why would you want your students lost? I flunked out because I wasn't learning anything, had no support, and had absolutely, positively no idea what I was doing and no idea how to figure out what I was doing. It was a disaster. School #2- complete turn around. They actually cared. They turned out to be assholes too (a student stalked and harassed me until I dropped out and the school did nothing) but I will always remember the support they provided to facilitate my education.

It's true! This is like a symbiotic effect on studying. Haha! To understand a lesson, you need other books to be able to relate to the topic. Arggh! It's a good thing you have these kitties to lighten your mood.

Great! So have you purchased a book that would provide further explanation of the content? LOL! Well, I just hope that you got over it. =) You seemed to have a great weekend. You even had your hands full with activities! That cute black kitty looks clever standing on two feet! You timed that shot perfectly!
