My Summer is ending, not that I am that disappointed. I know that sounds nerdy, but allow me to explain my reasoning:
1. I work 65-85 hours per week....starting school will actually be a huge relief.
2. I am FINALLY starting to see the light at the end. This time next year I will have taken (and hopefully passed, although I won't know) the BAR exam. No more school for me!
3. I'm actually a teensy bit excited for my classes this semester. I'm finally taking a couple classes that I practically came to law school for.
Tomorrow I take the MPRE.
The MPRE is an ethics test you need (well for this shortened explanation) to take and pass before sitting for the BAR. Its all about the things you can, cannot, should, may, or may not do as a lawyer (or judge....not that being a judge is even something I would remotely consider. Not that I don't respect those that pick that path...but those robes just aren't flattering. Maybe with a cute belt to give you a better figure?)
I feel I'm a pretty ethical person, but who knew there were so many rules to being a lawyer? (some of you are probably shaking your head thinking..."Of course there are rules Kitty!") I knew the basics....but the questions are just so tricky! Especially the judge questions.
So that is where I stand. MPRE on Friday, then a week from Monday I'm back in classes, and cutting back on my law clerk hours for the school year.
The day before classes, I will have my very first wedding photography gig! Needless to say, I'm jamming everything I can into this last week.
I'll also be leaving Starbucks again after this weekend. Since I'll be commuting 2 days a week to the law firm I'm currently working at, I'll have plenty of time to visit my favorite baristas while I'm in town! Its a little sad to think I will probably never be a barista again. After this, I will most likely have all "grown up" jobs, in an office building, wearing pencil skirts and blouses. No more rolling out of bed 5 minutes before I have to work, throwing on shorts and a tshirt, pulling my hair in a pony tail, and running out the door.
'Tis a bitter sweet end to a very productive summer!
