Its hard to care as much about school once you're a 3L. Yes, you need to be looking for jobs....but then what?
When you're clerking, work starts to seem more important than school. Its practical, I have clients waiting on me, and its harder to stay motivated on hypotheticals, when you're dealing with real life in a law firm.
Yes, I am still working hard! Of course I do my best not to slack on anything, but I've started to understand life as a law student....and nothing seems quite so bad. You know which classes you need to outline for, and which you don't. You start to have more project and paper based finals, and less of those 3 hour essays that you dread so much first year.
You start to see the light at the end, and you realize that you've almost made it. The bar exam is still looming, but is far enough away that most days I can even forget that I'll have to take it.
For those 1Ls and 2Ls out there...just know...it will get better! And pretty soon law school will be less scary, and more mundane (trust me...mundane is a HUGE step up from the terror I experienced much of my first year)
